Privacy Policy

Effective 24 October 2026

This policy explains how Ryan Funk Photography handles personal information through this website and photography enquiries. For a privacy question or request, contact Ryan Funk, the privacy contact, at hello@ryanfunkphotography.com.

Information you share

Our enquiry form asks for your name, your partner’s name, email address, phone number, the type of photoshoot, your preferred date and location, how you found us, and a message about your plans. The scheduling service may also collect information needed to arrange a call. Please share only what we need to discuss your photography. Ask your partner before providing their contact details, and avoid sending identification documents or sensitive personal information through an enquiry form.

How we use information

We use enquiry details to reply, discuss availability and coverage, prepare a proposal, arrange a call and, if you book, plan and provide the agreed services. We may also keep records needed to administer a booking, resolve a concern or meet a legal obligation.

An enquiry does not subscribe you to ongoing promotional emails. Our policy is to request a separate opt-in for that purpose. You can withdraw marketing consent using the unsubscribe option in a promotional message or by emailing us. We may still send replies and practical messages about an enquiry or booking you have requested.

Service providers and external content

Hostinger provides this website’s hosting and builder. Dubsado provides the public enquiry form and appointment scheduling. We use service providers to support these functions and related business communications. Information is shared for those purposes, with your permission where needed, or when the law allows or requires it. We do not sell enquiry contact lists.

The site also includes or links to services such as Google reviews, Instagram, YouTube and other photographers’ or venues’ websites. Using an embedded service or following a link may send that provider technical information, such as your IP address and browser details. Its own privacy terms apply to its service. Providers may process information outside Canada, where different laws can apply.

Cookies and measurement

The website uses necessary technology to operate and remember privacy choices. Analytics and advertising tools can help measure visits, enquiries and campaigns. These may include Google and Meta services, depending on the choices you make. Use the site’s Cookie settings control to review or change optional-cookie preferences. Browser settings can also restrict cookies.

When marketing cookies are allowed, campaign identifiers and the relevant landing-page or referral information may be stored to understand where an enquiry came from. The website’s campaign-attribution record expires after 30 days. This is separate from the retention of an enquiry sent to us.

Retention and protection

Our retention standard for enquiries that do not become bookings is up to 24 months after the last contact. Information may need to be kept longer for a continuing enquiry, a dispute, a legal obligation or another documented business purpose. Where information is used to make a decision that directly affects an individual, we retain it for at least the period required by applicable law. After the relevant purpose ends, our policy is to delete, securely destroy or anonymize information that is no longer needed.

Booking, contract, payment and photograph records have different purposes and are kept as needed to provide the agreed services and meet business or legal requirements. Ask us about the records relevant to your booking. Image delivery and permission to publish photographs are addressed in your photography agreement and any permissions you give.

Our protection standard is to limit access to people and providers who need information for their work and use reasonable safeguards appropriate to that information. No online service can promise that every transmission or storage system is completely secure.

Your choices and requests

You can ask to access or correct personal information, withdraw consent, request deletion where applicable, or raise a concern by emailing Ryan at hello@ryanfunkphotography.com. We may need to confirm your identity before releasing or changing records. We will explain any legal or practical limit on a request. Withdrawing information needed for a service may affect our ability to provide it.

If a concern remains unresolved, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.

Policy updates

We will update this page when our privacy practices change and show the effective date above. Contact us if you need clarification about how the policy applies to your enquiry or booking.
